After becoming an offical selection at the Oldenburg International Film Festival in September 2025, Eugene the Marine has been generating buzz. The love letter to giallo films is getting a limited theatrical release through its new distrbutor, Cineverse. Hank Bedford (Dixieland) directs and co-writes the film with Cesare Gagliardoni.

Eugene the Marine tells the story of a former Marine named, well, Gene (Scott Glenn). Upset that he is about to be kicked out of his home by his son (Jeremy Bobb). Glenn and Bobb star alongside Jim Gaffigan (Linoleum), Annette O’Toole (Virgin River), and Shioli Kutsuna (Gundam).
Cineverse has now acquired the domestic rights to the film. The studio plans to give it a limited theatrical release sometime later this year.
