We’ve got a treat for all you horror comedy fans out there. The new film Satan’s Peak is releasing today! This darkly comedic take on the satanic panic is directed by James L. Edwards (Her Name Was Christa), from a script he co-wrote with Rick Popko (Monsturd), and produced by 4321 Films.
The movie follows John Dardin (Adam Scott Clevenger), a disgraced police officer spiraling into a world of conspiracy-fueled delusions. During this mental collapse, he comes to believe that an independent film crew is really a Satanic cult committing real-life atrocities. Leading him to go on a horrific killing spree that he believes will help save the town.
Satan’s Peak is a warning about extremist media run amok, satirizing real-life conspiracies like the laughably easy-to-debunk Pizzagate. “Satan’s Peak is a chilling reflection of modern paranoia, radicalization, and the terrifying consequences of conspiracy-fueled extremism,” said Popko, president of 4321 Films and executive producer. “Inspired by real-world tragedies like Pizzagate, this film explores what happens when misinformation turns into violence.”
Clevenger (People To Kill) and Edwards (Trivial) star alongside Drew Fortier (Dwellers), Alicia Spurlock (FUN), Floyd Ewing Jr (The Dead Next Door), Douglas Esper (Brimstone Incorporated), and Julie Carney (Friends Forever).
