Tim Winton’s 2024 sci-fi thriller Juice will be getting a feature film adaptation courtesy of Working Title Films. Joe Wright (The Agency) is now attached to direct, from a script by Emmy winner Abi Morgan (The Iron Lady).

The novel is set in a fractured world, ravaged by a climate-change disaster. It centers around a man and his young son, who join a top-secret resistance organization. They go around taking revenge on the rich villains responsible for the disaster. But when a mission goes wrong, they must go on the run and continue to fight for their own survival.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled that Tim Winton has entrusted us with his extraordinary epic,” says Wright. “The story is both a thrilling modern family saga and an urgent call to action. I cannot wait for audiences to experience it on the big screen.”
“I’m pleased to know a filmmaker of Joe Wright’s caliber has chosen to adapt Juice for the screen,” Winton adds. “His capacity to portray the turmoil and the turning points of nations and peoples as well as private individuals distinguishes his work as a director, and I’m confident that Juice is in good hands.”
Juice does not have a set release window just yet. We’ll keep you posted on updates as the project develops.
