October releases for horror IPs are the spaghetti and meatballs of the entertainment world. Adding to this tradition, Peacock and A24 have set an October release date for the Friday the 13th prequel series Crystal Lake.
This will be the first official entry into the franchise since Platinum Dunes’ 2009 remake.

The upcoming 8-episode mini-series will hit Peacock on October 15th. It stars Callum Vinson (Chucky) as a young Jason Voorhees and Linda Cardellini (DTF St. Louis) as his mother, Pamela. It dives into the origins of the iconic killer and his mother, who gave up a singing career to raise him.
The cast as included, William Catlett (Abigail), Cameron Scoggins (Nashville), Devin Kessler (Godfather of Harlem), Gwendolyn Sundstrom (I’m Beginning to See the Light), Nick Cordileone (Warrior), Joy Suprano (Fleishman Is in Trouble), Danielle Kotch (Sinister), Christopher Denham (Shining Girls), Nancy Nagrant (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), and Phoenix Parnevik (Bel-Air).
It’s directed by Michael Lennox (Derry Girls), Quyen Tran (The Pitt), and the duo Celine Held & Logan George (Caddo Lake). Brad Caleb Kane (IT: Welcome to Derry) will showrun the new series.
