Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is officially returning this summer. Season 4 will premiere on Paramount+ on Thursday, July 23, 2026, the streamer confirmed at CCXP Mexico. The fourth season will run for 10 episodes, with new episodes released weekly on Thursdays through September 24.

Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Celia Rose Gooding, and Paul Wesley revealed the official teaser during the Paramount+ Thunder Stage presentation. The announcement came out of CCXP Mexico in front of fans.

The trailer wasted no time setting the tone. In it, the Enterprise is flying into danger once more, facing exploding planets, strange spatial energies, and even dinosaurs. There is also a weariness to Christopher Pike. Not only is he aware of the cruel fate that awaits him in the future. But [SPOILER] he’s just lost the love of his life. Marie Batel sacrificed herself at the end of Season 3 to imprison an evil alien entity.

The trailer ends with James T. Kirk declaring, “Let’s boldly go.”

Cast members were candid on stage. Wesley joked about the premiere landing on his birthday, while Romijn teased what fans can expect. “We’re so proud of this show, and we’re really proud of season four,” Romijn said, adding, “There’s dinosaurs!” Wesley also opened up about Kirk’s arc. “We explore a little about Kirk’s past and the demons that are haunting him,” he said.

Gooding spoke about Uhura’s growth this season. “She talks back,” Gooding said of her character. “She stands up for herself. I think we’re getting closer and closer to Nichelle Nichols’ Uhura.”

Season 4 stars Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Una Chin-Riley, and Ethan Peck as Spock. It also features Jess Bush as Nurse Christine Chapel and Christina Chong as La’An Noonien-Singh. Celia Rose Gooding stars as Nyota Uhura alongside Melissa Navia as Erica Ortegas and Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. Joseph M’Benga. Finally, Martin Quinn appears as Montgomery Scott. Carol Kane also returns as Pelia in a guest star capacity.

Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers serve as co-showrunners.

Season 4 is the penultimate run for the series. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds wrapped production last year on its fifth and final season. Season 5 will introduce two legacy characters from the original Star Trek series, with Thomas Jane set to play Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy and Kai Murakami portraying Hikaru Sulu. Season 5 will also feature a truncated six-episode run, unlike Season 4’s full slate.

The first three seasons are currently streaming on Paramount+.
