On March 22nd, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office in La Plata, MD, arrested Dayton James Webber. He is charged with murder over his alleged involvement in a fatal shooting.
Webber is also a quadruple amputee and a professional cornhole player.

Witnesses say that the suspect shot and killed Bradrick Michael Wells during an argument while he was driving. The witnesses were sitting in the backseat of the car and came in to report the crime later that day. They claim he then pulled over and asked them to help him move the body. They refused and left the car while Webber drove off.
Later on, the department received a call about a body found in a yard. It was identified as Wells and pronounced dead on the scene.
Webber’s car was tracked to Charlottesville, VA, where he was found at a nearby hospital, treating “a medical issue.” He was booked in Virginia by the Albemarle County Police Department, then subsequently charged as a fugitive from justice.
He is currently set to be extradited to Maryland, where he faces 1st and 2nd degree murder charges, among others.
In 2023, Webber wrote an article for Today about his experiences as a professional cornhole player, who’s also a quadruple amputee.
