Filmmaker Tommy Wirkola’s (Violent Night) shark movie Thrash has already gone through a whirlwind of changes. But the project’s killer instincts have it coming out on top in the movie’s first trailer.
Wirkola’s film was originally with Sony Pictures and called Beneath the Storm when it was 1st announced in 2024. The title changed to Shiver later on that same year. A few months ago the film was unnamed and moved over to Netflix.

The movie, currently known as Thrash, is set in a coastal town during a Category 5 storm. As if weather conditions weren’t bad enough, the rains are bringing in debris, darkness, and, oh yeah, sharks. The survivors of the storm will have to band together if they ever hope to survive the wildlife
It stars Phoebe Dynevor, Whitney Peak, Djimon Hounsou, Matt Nable, Andrew Lees, Alyla Browne, Stacy Clausen, Elijah Ungvary, and Dante Ubaldi.
Wirkola writes, directs, and produces Thrash. Adam McKay and Kevin Messick also produce.
Thrash hits Netflix on April 10th, you can check out the 1st trailer below:
