Jeff Probst Almost Had a Cameo in Sam Raimi’s “Send Help”

Those who love Survivor LOVE Jeff Probst. There’s no such thing as a fan of the show that doesn’t love the man. Part of that obsession is spotting him in other formats. His podcast for one, On Fire with Jeff Probst: The Official Survivor Podcast is just as popular as the show. I also caught him recently on an episode of The Price is Right with Drew Carrey. So now knowing that he was supposed to have a cameo in Sam Raimi’s 2026 survival thriller Send Help I can’t help but feel a little disappointed.

The writers of Sam Raimi’s 2026 survival thriller Send Help originally planned a cameo appearance for Survivor host Jeff Probst. The cameo ultimately never happened because of scheduling conflicts with Survivor 50.

The film—starring Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien—follows two coworkers who survive a plane crash and must fend for themselves on a deserted island. A premise that naturally echoes the survival themes of the long-running reality series Survivor. In fact it’s because of this similarity that the protagonist’s obsession with Survivor played a huge part in the film. Filmmakers thought (rightfully so) that a cameo from Jeff Probst would put the icing on the cake and really lock that theme in. Unfortunately due to conflicts with the currently airing season Survivor 50: In The Hands of the Fans this was not possible.

    Jeff Explains What Happened

Jeff has even publicly lamented about having a bit of FOMO when it comes to missing this opportunity.

So alas, we didn’t get to see him in Send Help. But that doesn’t mean we’ll never see him in a film ever, just that this time it didn’t work out.

Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans airs Wednesdays at 8pm ET on CBS, available to stream live with the Paramount+ Premium plan. The live finale is scheduled for May 20.
