‘The Office’ is Leaving Netflix Next Year For NBC’s Unnamed Streaming Service

There are going to be a lot of changes happening as companies that once used Netflix begin to create their own streaming services. NBC is now starting to let users of the service know that some of the shows hosted on Netflix will move to their exclusive streaming service in 2021, including The Office. NBC had this to say about the move.

“‘The Office’ has become a staple of pop-culture and is a rare gem whose relevance continues to grow at a time when fans have more entertainment choices than ever before. We can’t wait to welcome the gang from Dunder Mifflin to NBCUniversal’s new streaming service.”
    – Bonnie Hammer, chairman of NBCUniversal

Of course you can always buy the DVD’s if you really love the show, but for those of us slumming it on the streaming services you may want to get your Jim x Pam fix now before it’s too late. Unless you want to subscribe to yet another streaming service.

Along with the unnamed Universal/NBC streaming service promised to come in 2021, we are also anxiously awaiting Disney+ which should drop anytime now. Other channels have started streaming services and have been successful so why not NBC? When you take a look at HBO, Showtime, and CBS it only makes sense for companies to start their own service.

Unfortunately the appeal for these services was that it was once cheaper than having cable television. Now if you want to watch a favorite show from each service you will have to pay premium to guarantee that you don’t have to deal with commercials.
