Chappell Roan Leaves Entertainment Company Wasserman Due to Ties to Epstein

Chappell Roan left talent agency Wasserman after new documents linked the company’s founder and CEO, Casey Wasserman, to communications involving Ghislaine Maxwell, a longtime associate of Jeffrey Epstein.

The documents, which surfaced as part of newly released Epstein-related files, included emails from the early 2000s that showed flirtatious exchanges between Wasserman and Maxwell. It’s important to not that there were no allegations of criminal behavior against Wasserman, only that he had ties to Ghislaine. It is still very possible that there was some misconduct due to implications in the files but none have been uncovered at this point.

Roan stated that staying with the agency no longer felt right to her. Saying that her top priority is to protect herself and the people she works with. That includes creating a safe, respectful environment mattered more than any professional opportunity. Given the implications, she felt she couldn’t continue working with the agency and still stay true to her values.

Her decision quickly gained attention, earning support from fans and adding public pressure on both Wasserman and the agency. Ongoing demands for transparency, ethical responsibility, and accountability among powerful industry figures is an important move when it comes to artist integrity. Roan’s choice reflected a growing movement among artists who are more willing to speak up, set boundaries, and stand by their values, even when it puts their careers or relationships at risk.
