On December 31st 2025, Nintendo of America’s President and COO, the perfectly named Doug Bowser, retired. Not long after, he found a new line of work. Bowser has joined the board of directors at Hasbro. The toy manufacturer/entertainment holding company behind Wizards of the Coast, Monopoly, Nerf, and IPs like “Transformers” and “Peppa Pig.”

During Bowser’s time at Nintendo, he oversaw the launch of Nintendo Switch 2 and aided the company in branching off into more licensed merchandise. His role has since been taken over by Devon Pritchard, the first female President of Nintendo of America.

Hasbro is also welcoming the former CEO of The Honest Company, Carla Vernón, to the board.

“We are delighted to have Doug and Carla join our seasoned and dynamic Board of Directors,” Rich Stoddart, chair of Hasbro’s board, said. “Doug and Carla bring extensive leadership experience across consumer brands and franchise management. Their expertise and guidance will be invaluable as Hasbro continues to execute its long-term innovation and growth strategy.”

“Doug and Carla bring deep expertise in building iconic brands, creating meaningful consumer experiences, and driving innovation and transformation across their respective industries,” Chris Cocks, Hasbro CEO, added. “Their leadership will be invaluable as we continue to execute our Playing To Win strategy and deliver extraordinary play experiences to fans around the world.”
