The long-awaited revival of “Malcolm in the Middle” is just around the corner. Hulu has just given “Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair” an early April release date and teaser trailer!
The four-episode revival takes place 19 years after the original series. It follows the titular character, who is now an adult with a daughter of his own. Despite his best efforts, Malcolm’s new family is sucked into his biological family’s chaos when his parents demand they attend their 40th wedding anniversary.

Most of the cast from the original Fox series will be returning with Bryan Cranston as Hal, Jane Kaczmarek as Lois, Frankie Muniz as Malcolm, Christopher Kennedy Masterson as Francis, and Justin Berfield as Reese.
Emy Coligado will join the cast as Piama, Francis’ wife; Keeley Karsten as Malcolm’s daughter, Leah; and Kiana Madeira as his girlfriend, Tristan. Anthony Timpano and Vaughan Murrae will portray the newest siblings, Jamie and Kelly. Jamie was a baby when the series ended, and Lois had just become pregnant with Kelly.

While not featured in the teaser trailer, Caleb Ellsworth-Clark will be taking over the role of Dewey, previously played by Erik Per Sullivan. However, Ellsworth-Clark can be seen as Dewey in the poster art below.
“Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair” will premiere on Hulu on April 10, 2026. All 7 seasons of the original series are currently streaming on Hulu or on Disney+ for Hulu bundle subscribers.
