We have some GREAT news! After almost 50 years of playing second banana to a frog, The Muppets’ own Miss Piggy is getting a movie. Tony winner Cole Escola (“Oh, Mary!”) will be penning the script, with Jennifer Lawrence (“Die My Love”) and Emma Stone (“Bugonia”) producing.
This will be Miss Piggy’s first solo project. She originally debuted in Jim Henson‘s “The Muppet Show” in 1976.

“I don’t know if I can announce this, but I’m just going to,” Lawrence said on the Las Culturistas podcast. “Emma Stone and I are producing a Miss Piggy movie and Cole is writing it.”
Of course, this begs the question: will the pair also star in the film? “I think so, we have to,” she responded.
This Miss Piggy movie is still very much in development. All plot, synopses, and potential stars are unknown.
We’ll keep you posted on updates about this project as it develops.
