We’ve got some exciting news for all you “Dexter” fans out there! “Dexter: Resurrection,” a sequel series to the original show and “Dexter: New Blood,” just got its first trailer. It’s also been confirmed that Erik King will reprise his role as James Doakes!

The trailer has everyone’s favorite blood splatter expert/serial killer, Dexter (Michael C. Hall), doing what he does best. Though a bit worse for wear considering he was shot in the chest by his son Harrison (Jack Alcott). Now he has Miami Metro’s Angel Batista (David Zayas) asking one too many questions and threatening to expose his dark past. So he goes on a mission to New York, find his son, and set things right.

“Resurrection” will have some star-studded new faces among the cast including Peter Dinklage (“The Thicket”), Uma Thurman (“The King of Kings”), Krysten Ritter (“Sonic the Hedgehog 3”), Neil Patrick Harris (“Uncoupled”), and David Dastmalchian (“Rosario”). Alongside “Dexter” mainstays like Hall, King, Zayas, Jennifer Carpenter (“1923”), James Remar (“Megalopolis”), C.S. Lee (“For All Mankind”), Luna Lauren Velez (“American Rust”), Desmond Harrington (“Manhunt”), and Julie Benz (“The Midway Point”).

Paramount+ and Showtime are partnering to back “Resurrection.” Clyde Phillips will be working as showrunner with Scott Reynolds executive producing.

“Dexter: Resurrection” will premiere its first two episodes on July 11th, followed by a new episode weekly. You can check out the first trailer below:
