It’s hard to think of a comedy duo as solidified in pop culture as Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong. Unfortunately, the marijuana-centric pair are taking their last ride with the aptly titled “Cheech & Chong’s Last Movie.” Keep Smokin’ LLC has just released the first trailer for the project.

“Cheech & Chong’s Last Movie” will defy the conventional expectations of the documentary genre. This film traces the enduring legacy of comedy pioneers, telling their stories with a mix of animation and archival footage. All of this is tied together with a classic cinematic road trip buddy comedy. It features interviews, sketches, and never-before-seen footage spanning Cheech and Chong’s five decades-long career. Telling a tale of unlikely friendships, fame, turmoil, rebellion, and finally redemption.

The trailer shows Cheech and Chong driving through the desert in a black Cadillac with an obligatory marijuana leaf decal on the hood. As the two bicker about where they are. What follows is a montage of footage from the duo’s impressive career.

“Cheech & Chong’s Last Movie” is directed by David Bushell who is also producing with Robbi Chong. Executive producers include John Paul DeJoria, Gary Haseley, Cleo Segura Sherrel, and Christian Selleron.

Cheech and Chong have appeared in 25 movies, with their most famous still probably being their 1978 big-screen debut “Up in Smoke.” And we are still trying to find Dave.

“Cheech & Chong’s Last Movie,” will have a limited release, fittingly, on April 20th. With a nationwide release on April 25th. You can check out the trailer below:
