“Peacemaker” Getting New Dance Sequence for Season 2

If there was one thing that surprised us, it was the opening dance number in season one of DC’s “Peacemaker.” Seeing John Cena and the rest of the cast dancing their hearts out was an experience. What’s even cooler is learning that Alan Tudyk (“Resident Alien“) was involved in perfecting the choreography. Tudyk’s wife Charissa Barton is the mastermind behind the choreography and he would preform the moves for her.

And now we have exciting news about the opening for the upcoming season two.

    “Peacemaker” | DC, HBO Max

While speaking on a panel at Fan Expo Boston, Tudyk confirmed there will be a new opening dance for “Peacemaker” season two. Tudyk spoke about helping his wife visualize the choreography, standing in for Cena. Before he could get into detail about the choreography for season one, a fan asked if the new season would have a new dance. “My wife is involved. I think that’s all I can tease, it is a new dance number,” Tudyk confirmed.

We are excited to see this new dance!

“I was along for the ride in the creation of the first one because for Charissa, her pitch to James, who didn’t know it was me when she was pitching it, she said my husband’s an actor, and I’ll teach him the dance and if he can— because she has to teach the actors, so it has to be at a level actors can dance,” Tudyk said. “So she said my husband’s an actor and if he can do it, anybody can do it. So I served as a low bar that John Cena had to step over.”

At this time there is not much known about “Peacemaker” season 2. What has been confirmed is that it will follow the events of James Gunn‘s upcoming “Superman” movie. The new season began filming a few months ago and the new dance is still being created. Tudyk did give his opinion on the writing for the new season, “…I just started reading the episodes, which is why I started talking about it. Oh my God, it’s so good.”

“Peacemaker” is currently streaming all episodes on MAX. If you haven’t seen the dance number for the season one opening, you can check it out below. We will report when more updates become available.
