One of the things most fans love about James Gunn (“Guardians of The Galaxy”) is his willingness to share about upcoming projects. Over the weekend, Gunn posted an image from set confirming that season 2 of HBO’s “Peacemaker” has begun filming.
The post has an image of the DC Studios co-head reflected in the Peacemaker’s distinctive helmet. “Day 1 S2. 🧜♂️” it’s captioned. In the comments, he clarified that this photo was snapped during “a Saturday. Pre-shoot.”
How Does This Effect “Superman”
This post also left fans asking how Gunn would film the upcoming “Superman” movie and “Peacemaker” at the same time. Since the projects are shooting simultaneously, he will only “be directing some of the episodes.” “But there are three other great directors joining me for the season,” he said. For season 1, Gunn wrote all eight episodes and directed five.
“Peacemaker” follows the exploits of a superhero who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it. The character originated in Gunn’s 2021 version of “The Suicide Squad.” HBO greenlit a second season of the series before its first season finale, given the show’s high viewership and strong fandom.
The show’s cast includes John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, Chukwudi Iwuji, Steve Agee, and Robert Patrick. Co-executive producers for “Peacemaker” include Gunn, DC co-head Peter Safran, and Matt Miller. Cena and Stacy Littlejohn work as consulting producers.
We’ll keep you posted on updates about “Peacemaker” season 2 as they become available. You can catch all of season 1 exclusively streaming on MAX.
