What It Takes To Become A Professional Gamer By 2023

Gamer is a very popular concept. Especially recently, gaming has become a multi-billion dollar industry. Hundreds of professional tournaments based on both computer and console are organized every year, special player equipment is produced, hours of tactics are discussed and developed. So how to become a gamer?

    Let’s Define It First

Let’s start with the definition of gamer before diving into how to be a professional gamer in 2023. Nowadays, many people are now called gamers, but of course it would be a bit ridiculous to call everyone a gamer. Gamers can be called people who play a lot of games, have a game culture, and play games with passion. Nowadays, since many people are now interested in video games, many people can call themselves or someone else a gamer, but this is not quite true. Because gamers are not only interested in video games, but also in tabletop games, skill-based card games; FRP, LARP, cosplay and many other things. Therefore, it would be wrong to associate gamerism only with video games.

The number of people who play games is measured in billions, not millions. Due to the increase in mobile gaming, the gaming industry being one of the largest entertainment sectors, the increase in access to technology and the mainstreaming of the concept called gaming, the number of people who no longer play games is very few. As such, it would not be correct to call everyone who plays games a gamer. People who play 5-6 games a year or play only one game too much are not gamers. Being a gamer does not just mean playing games.

    What You Need To Care

If you are a beginner, it is very important to have top-notch equipment. A good quality headset will definitely be useful in detail-orientated games such as war games, as it allows you to hear the enemy’s footsteps and increases communication between you and your team members. Although it is not essential, if your RAM, graphics card and other hardware are good, you will see the details in games faster and clearer. An effective mouse and keyboard can improve your reflexes because the computer platform may require equally good hardware.

There are many different genres and games in the gaming world. To become a professional gamer, it is important to find your favorite game that suits you. For example, if FPS games such as Counter Strike or Valorant are more suited to your skills, it is important to turn to such games. Just because a game is popular doesn’t make you a professional gamer unless it suits you.

In addition to the research you will do to choose the right game, it is important to pay attention to the long-term playability of the game you choose. Because games that attract the attention of players only for a short time do not bring success in the long run. However, changing games frequently can also be disadvantageous, because your efforts may be wasted. While making these changes, you should not forget the importance of choosing the right equipment and creating a good network.

Your network is crucial too. This can both help you improve yourself and allow you to meet more people by joining gaming communities. You can also improve yourself by following those who play the game better.

And most importantly, practice practice practice. Choosing the right equipment, finding the right game and having a strong network are important to become a professional player, but it is also necessary to use them well. The more you practice, the better you will understand the game and the faster you will realize your shortcomings.

If you carefully fulfill everything mentioned above, you will actually take the basic steps to make it a profession. With the tournaments organized, it is possible to earn incredible money from this business. But it doesn’t end there. There are also potential professions that can enter your life with this profession, and the most important of these is publishing. It’s one of the most popular professions at the moment. Thanks to the fame that gamerism will bring you, you will not struggle to create an audience for yourself. At the same time, it is possible to get a lot of pleasure from this profession with advertising, collaborations and sponsorships. Remember that doing this job as a profession is a very difficult process. Determination becomes very important at this point.
