The cast of DC Studios co-head James Gunn’s “Superman” continues to take shape with yet another new cast announcement. The upcoming film will have veteran character actor Pruitt Taylor Vince (“Lady in the Lake”) as Jonathan Kent/Pa Kent.

Pa, the Man of Steel’s adoptive father, takes him in soon after he arrives on Earth inside a Kryptonian spaceship. He guides his son Clark through childhood as best he can while grappling with the boy’s obvious superpowers. This character has been previously portrayed by Glenn Ford in 1978’s “Superman” and Kevin Costner in 2013’s “Man of Steel.”

Vince will star alongside David Corenswet as the titular superhero and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. Along with Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, and María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer. As well as Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, and Wendell Pierce as Perry White.

Gunn’s “Superman” will be DC Studios’ first film as a part of “Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.” Which is a complete relaunch of the DC Cinematic Universe.

“Superman” will hit theaters on July 11, 2025. We’ll keep you posted on updates as they become available.
