Lifetime Announces Nicole Brown Simpson Docuseries

In 1994, Nicole Brown Simpson was found murdered outside of her condominium, alongside her friend Ronald Goldman. Her late ex-husband, football player turned actor O.J. Simpson, was charged then acquitted of the crime during a trial that took the nation by storm. A day after Simpson’s family announced he passed away from cancer, Lifetime has confirmed they are releasing docuseries “The Life and Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson.” (This is not to be confused with the 2019 film “The Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson,” which starred Mena Suvari.)

This docuseries is slated to be a two-night event sometime this June. But given the recent news, that could change. The series has already been in the works for over a year and is probably nearing completion.

    The Series

The series will center around Brown’s story in an attempt to reclaim her narrative away from the national spectacle her death became. More than 50 participants close to Brown including her sisters, close family, and friends will tell her story. It will also include exclusive archival video and unprecedented access to her family. “The Life and Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson” is timed in conjunction with the 30th anniversary of her murder.

Brown and Simspon were married for seven years and had two children together, Sydney and Justin. While Simpson was acquitted of the double murder, he was found liable for their deaths in a 1997 civil lawsuit.

“The Life and Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson” will be a part of Lifetime’s Stop Violence Against Women initiative. That also includes the recently announced  “Gaslit by My Husband: The Morgan Metzer Story,” based on the true story of Morgan and Rodney Metzer. It will tell the story of a woman who is brutally assaulted in an attack staged by her husband.

We’ll keep you posted on updates about “The Life and Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson” as they become available.
