Did FX Just Quietly Renew “The Bear” for Season 4?

FX’s hit series “The Bear” is definitely a priority for the cabler/streamer. After winning top prizes at pretty much every single awards show this year, a season 4 renewal isn’t super surprising. What *is* surprising is how quietly it was done. No fanfare, no graphics or videos, not really anything to mark the occasion. Come to think of it…FX hasn’t actually confirmed the renewal news, yet. The majority of sources on this are from the Chicago area, where the show is currently filming.

It’s hard to guess what season 4 may be about, but it’s being mentioned that season 3 and 4 will be filmed back to back. Which, in a way, may indicate a 4th and final season situation, much like FX did with Donald Glover‘s “Atlanta.”

“The Bear” stars Emmy winners Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, as well as Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis, Matty Matheson, Lionel Boyce, Molly Gordon, Abby Elliot, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Edwin Lee Gibson.

Seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream now on Hulu. We’ll let you know what we hear about this and other news.

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
