“Fargo” Season 5 Gets Offical Trailer

FX just released the trailer for “Fargo” season 5, and fans of Dorothy “Dot” Lyon (Juno Temple) are in for a real treat. It opens with the police telling Dot’s husband Wayne (David Rysdahl) that his wife “isn’t who she says she is.” While they speak we are shown a montage of her fending off two would-be home invaders with a variety of boobytraps.

While housewives in North Dakota can certainly be crafty, this is a bit more violent than you’d expect from someone putting on such a timid persona.

We cut to Wayne’s mother Lorraine Lyon (Jennifer Jason Leigh) calling Dot “a wolf in sheep’s clothing.” Right before we see Roy Tillman (Jon Hamm) the North Dakota Sheriff who’s been tracking her down. He is accompanied by his son Gator (Joe Keery) and a drifter, Ole Munch (Sam Spruell).

The season 5 trailer for “Fargo” ends with Lorraine’s consigliere (Dave Foley) informing police “We’ve got our own reality.” Only for a confused officer to tell him “You can’t, that’s not a thing.” Bringing the exact sense of humor we’ve come to expect from the show.

“With her deepest secrets beginning to unravel, Dot attempts to shield her family from her past, but her doting, well-meaning husband Wayne keeps running to his mother, Lorraine Lyon for help,” the official logline reads. “CEO of the largest Debt Collection Agency in the country, the ‘Queen of Debt’ is unimpressed with her son’s choice in a wife and spares no opportunity to voice her disapproval. However, when Dot’s unusual behavior catches the attention of Minnesota Police Deputy Indira Olmstead and North Dakota Deputy Witt Farr, Lorraine appoints her in-house counsel and primary advisor, Danish Graves, to aid her daughter-in-law. After all, family is family. But Dot has an uncanny knack for survival. And with her back to the wall, she’s about to show why one should never provoke a mother Lyon.”

“Fargo,” also stars Richa Moorjani as Minnesota Police Deputy Indira Olmstead and Lamorne Morris as North Dakota Deputy Witt Farr.

Noah Hawley is returning as showrunner, writer, and director. He will also be executive producing alongside Warren Littlefield, Steve Stark, Kim Todd, and Joel and Ethan Coen.

“Fargo,” season 5 will premiere with two episodes on November 21 at 10:00 PM (ET/PT) on FX, and available to stream on Hulu the following day. You can check out the full trailer below:
