Chandler Riggs to Star in Horror-Comedy “Hacked”

Actor Chandler Riggs (“The Walking Dead”) will star in the upcoming horror-comedy “Hacked,”  written and directed by Shane Brady. The new film is set to begin production in Los Angeles and Tampa. It has been granted an interim agreement by SAG-AFTRA, so none of the performers are breaking the rules of the union’s ongoing strike.

“Hacked” is partially based on a true story when producer Emily Zercher and Brady were hacked in 2021. The first ten minutes of the movie deal with those events. While the rest of its runtime focuses on what they “wish they could have done to that bastard.”

The story follows a family who loses everything to a prolific and elusive hacker, aptly named “The Chameleon” (Riggs). Parents Amy (Augie Duke) and Mark (Brady) have $20,000 stolen, while their kids Ralph (Owen Atlas) and Freddy (Collin Thompson) get their digital lives hijacked. Including social media, video game items, and even their pointless online homework!

When the bank, social media platforms, and law enforcement aren’t able to help, the family takes matters into their own hands. The kids, who have a passion for murder documentaries, are the only ones capable of taking on the hacker.

“This is such a fun story that I can’t wait to be a part of,” Riggs said about taking on the role of the hacker. “Shane and his whole team have been so great to work with so far, and I absolutely love indie films like this one. Can’t wait to get back to work!”

“Hacked” will also star Hugh Scott, Brittney Escalante, Glenn Stanton, and Elyssa Kim. “When I got the call to return and play another smug, smooth talking narcissist for Shane’s next movie, I realized I must have a type,” Scott said about the project.

We’ll keep you posted on updates about “Hacked” as they become available.
