Jerry Seinfeld Teases Possible “Seinfeld” Reunion

It has been 25 years since comedy series “Seinfeld” went off the air, in a finale that disappointed many fans and critics alike. Comedian Jerry Seinfeld is teasing a possible reunion that may give viewers some closure.

The comedian dropped this information while fielding questions during a performance at the Wang Theatre in Boston. He hinted that he and fellow show creator Larry David are working on some sort of project regarding the show’s lackluster conclusion.

“Well, I have a little secret for you about the ending,” Seinfeld can be heard saying in a video posted to Instagram by Linda Henry, CEO of Boston Globe Media. While he “can’t really tell it, because it is a secret.”

“Here’s what I’ll tell you,” said Seinfeld. “Something is going to happen that has to do with that ending. Hasn’t happened yet. And just what you are thinking about, Larry and I have also been thinking about it. So, you’ll see.”

“Seinfeld,” ran from 1989 to 1998, and was consistently the most-watched series on the air, at the time. When it first aired the two-part finale had the highest television viewership of any program. Crowds were even gathering at Times Square in New York just to watch the ending. But even with high viewership the finale was almost universally panned.

During a 2017 interview Seinfeld even said that he “sometimes [thinks] we really shouldn’t have even done it.”

“Seinfeld” did have a bit of a reunion of sorts in 2009 on David’s series “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” But it’s currently not known if Seinfeld is hinting at another reunion via “Curb,” which may be ending after this season, or if it will be a standalone thing. Both seem plausible given the show’s impact.

We’ll keep you posted on updates about a possible “Seinfeld” reunion as they become available. You can check out the full video below:
