Paramount+, Nickelodeon animated series “Star Trek: Prodigy” has been saved! Streaming giant Netflix has reportedly snagged the series following it’s cancellation earlier this year.

Season one of “Prodigy” will hit Netflix later this year, and season 2 will release sometime in 2024 on the platform.

Voice cast for the series includes Kate Mulgrew as Captain Kathryn Janeway, Brett Gray as Dal, Ella Purnell as Gwyn, Rylee Alazraqui as Rok-Tahk, Angus Imrie as Zero, Jason Mantzoukas as Jankom Pog, Dee Bradley Baker as Murf, John Noble as The Diviner, and Jimmi Simpson as Drednok. Other reoccurring cast members include Daveed Diggs as Commander Tysess, Jameela Jamil as Ensign Asencia, Jason Alexander as Doctor Noum, Robert Beltran as Captain Chakotay, Bonnie Gordon as the ship’s computer (also other characters), and Billy Campbell as Thadiun Okona.

We’ll let you know what we hear about a set release date. This is such great news!

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
