We finally have a release date for “Masters of the Air,” the much-anticipated follow-up series to the hit shows “Band of Brothers” and “The Pacific.”

The new series will be based on Donald L. Miller’s biography “Masters of the Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany.” The book tells the story of the men in the US Eighth Air Force and their heroic aerial war against Nazi forces.

The upcoming series features an ensemble cast including Austin Butler (“Dune Part Two”) and Callum Turner (“Fantastic Beasts”). Alongside Anthony Boyle (“The Plot Against America”), Nate Mann (“Ex-Husbands”), and Raff Law (“Twist”).

The screenplay was adapted by “Band of Brothers” alumni John Orloff, alongside Graham Yost (“Justified”). Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks are both executive producing.

Apple TV+ is the exclusive home for the war epic, and reportedly committed around $250 million to its production. There was even a set constructed to replicate a sprawling WW2-era air force base in the British countryside. This set alone allegedly cost nearly $7 million.

The nine-episode limited series will premier the first two installments on Friday, January 26th. After that, a new episode will air every Friday through March 15th. We’ll keep you posted on updates about “Masters of the Air,” as they become available.
