Director James Wan (“Aquaman”) is on the mend after a scary and seemingly unexpected stay at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. Earlier this week, the filmmaker posted an image of himself in a hospital bed with an IV attached to his arm to his Instagram story.

“It has been an extremely rough and scary couple of days and nights,” the text on the image reads. “You never want to rush to ER in the middle of the night and then have to stay in the hospital.” The post goes on to praise the team at the hospital. Before confirming that “James is safe now and on the mend.”

While the post is no longer live on Wan’s Instagram story, plenty of fan accounts screenshotted and reposted it. Wan and his team have not commented on what may have landed him in the hospital for a few days. But it seems that he has been discharged and recovering on his own.

Recently, Wan has been keeping busy with project after project. Most notability DC’s much-anticipated sequel “Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom” which is set to debut next Christmas. He is also acting as a producer on multiple upcoming films including ones from franchises he founded. Like the recently announced “Saw X” and the newest additions to the “Insidious” and “The Conjuring” franchises. Not to mention behind the scene things like his production company Atomic Monster merging with Blumhouse.

We truly hope with everything going on in Wan’s life that he is able to take the time out to fully recover from whatever put him in the hospital in the first place. We wish him a full and speedy recovery.

“Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom” is expected to hit theaters December 20th, 2023. (Although rumors indicate it, along with “Dune Part Two” may shift into 2024 due to the ongoing strikes.)
