    We chatted with writer/ director Zach Braff about his latest film, “A Good Person,” hometowns, hobbies, and self reflection. The film is a raw look at trauma and grief and the cascading impact one person’s actions can have.

    Daniel is brought together with Allison, the once thriving young woman with a bright future who was involved in an unimaginable tragedy that took his daughter’s life. As grief-stricken Daniel navigates raising his teenage granddaughter and Allison seeks redemption, they discover that friendship, forgiveness, and hope can flourish in unlikely places.

    More about Zach Braff:

    He is a director, writer, and actor best known for his work on “Scrubs” (both in front of and behind the camera). Braff made his feature film debut as a director and writer on the 2004 comedy-drama “Garden State,” in which he also starred. In 2020, Braff re-teamed with “Scrubs” creator Bill Lawrence to direct an episode of the AppleTV+ show “Ted Lasso,” which earned him a 2021 DGA nomination and a 2021 Primetime Emmy Award. Braff, Lawrence and AppleTV+ have since worked together again on a 2023 Braff-directed episode of “Shrinking,” starring Jason Segel and Harrison Ford, and Braff’s guest-starring role on the soon-to-be-released “Bad Monkey,” starring Vince Vaughn.

    “A Good Person” is in theaters now.
