Jason Momoa Gets Into the Alcohol Game with Meili Vodka

Actor Jason Momoa has launched a new line of vodka with his BFF/artist/entrepreneur, Blaine Halvorson. Meili Vodka is based not only around making good tasting booze, but also on sustainability. They structure their tenants around the four elements water, earth, wind, and fire.

    Water

Is at the base of our existence, and Meili Vodka. They source their H2O from an ancient aquifer formed over 300 million years ago. It ushers alpine snow and rainfall through miles of vast underground caverns, filtering and infusing itself through the veins of natural springs. According to their website, this regenerative water source is considered one of the purest on Earth by EPA standards.

    Earth

Is found in the gains harvested to make Meili. The company uses native and seasonal grains to bring a bright, smooth, and effortless flavor profile. They are sourced locally on their own farms, which have been operated by the same family for generations. Farms that are centrally located to Meili’s water source and distillery, creating the smallest carbon footprint possible.

    Wind

Can be found in Meili and co-founder Halvorson’s home state of Montana. The cool, crisp, mountain air at the company’s 11,000-foot high aquifer peak allows the alpine snow and rainfall to remain untainted before its subterranean journey to the collection source. When the beverage is in its final stages it is also allowed to rest and breathe before bottling, resulting in a smoother flavor profile.

    Fire

Powers Momoa and Halvorson’s spirits, as well as the stills that make their spirits. It is also used to fire their unique and gorgeous glass bottles. Meili uses 100% post-consumer recycled bottles. Which involves vast mountains of broken, discarded glass being heated to molten masses, and repurposed into something functional and exquisite. This creates an antique texture that is full of organic imperfections and creates a stunning Georgia green hue. It also means no two bottles will ever be alike.

Meili’s commitment to sustainability is so strong they were even invited to be keynote speakers at Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA)’s Convention & Exposition. Which will be held from April 2–5, 2023, at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

“It’s an incredible honor to address my new friends and colleagues in the wine and spirits industry as the chosen keynote speaker,” Momoa said. “I’m not only proud, but extremely excited to celebrate the launch of Meili Vodka — our new sustainable brand of craft spirits. These three days will center around the elevation of discovery, shared stories and the beauty of new frontiers.”
