Tim Allen Flashed “Home Improvement” Co-Star Patricia Richardson

Sometimes bloopers and jokes can come back around to not be as funny when there’s a change in context. It’s bound to happen every now and then as humor and life itself are ever evolving things. One example of this has come to light recently regarding the television series, “Home Improvement” and it’s star, Tim Allen. Only a few days after he was making headlines following a story in former co-star Pamela Anderson‘s new book, a certain scene from the beloved sitcom has come under scrutiny.

In Anderson’s memoir “Love, Pamela,” the model-turned-actor recounted an incident on the set of “Home Improvement” on her first day of filming. According to her, Allen greeted her while he was wearing a robe. He proceeded to flash her, and as Anderson puts it, “He said it was only fair, because he had seen me naked. Now we’re even. I laughed uncomfortably.” Allen has denied this, saying it never happened.

Whether it happened or not, a blooper clip from the show has been circulating online from season 2, episode 2, “Rites and Wrongs of Passage.” In the episode, Tim is participating in a Scottish caber tossing event and dons a kilt. As was often the case in “Home Improvement,” Allen and other actors would occasionally goof around on set and amuse the studio audience.

In this particular blooper, Tim lifts up his kilt to flash his on-screen wife Jill, played by Patricia Richardson.

Allen is not the first actor to be accused of such behavior on set. David Boreanaz met with allegations of sexual harassment and flashing while on the set of “Bones.” Pam Dawber accused Robin Williams of exposing himself on the set of “Mork & Mindy,” amongst other things. Both of these situations were met differently with a lawsuit filed against Boreanaz. Dawber felt Williams was just being playful, and she took no actions against him.

Richardson told TMZ Allen was wearing boxer shorts under his kilt. Her surprised reaction was purely because she didn’t expect him to lift the kilt and mockingly flash her.
