HolyEars: Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield Ear-Shaped Cannabis Gummies

If you weren’t around to keep up with the news in 1997, you missed out on one of the most insane and unexpected moments in sports history. The sport of boxing has largely fallen by the wayside today but back then, it was a spectacle. That summer was set to be the rematch between Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield. The first fight had ended with a surprising TKO stoppage by Holyfield in the 11th round. When the rematch happened, Tyson bit a chunk off of Holyfield’s ear near the end of round 3. And now, we have ear shaped cannabis gummies Holyfield is selling with Tyson …Wait, what?

The path that Mike Tyson has taken through life has been an interesting one. From being convicted of sexual assault to financial issues to alcoholism; Tyson has seen and done things that have harmed his own life as well as others. The more you read about Tyson’s early life and his family dying and abandoning him though and you start to see why this guy had a lot of issues growing up. One of the things that his helped him find some peace, pain relief, and breaking away from alcohol though is marijuana. And since gummies are the new big thing in the world of THC, naturally, we now have Tyson gummies in the shape of Evander Holyfield’s partially eaten ear.

Tyson having partially eaten ear shaped gummies is nothing new; they’ve been out for months. But this is a new line Holyfield himself approved of. The “Holy Ears” line will be unveiled on Black Friday this year. Holyfield has preached before about his religious beliefs and the value of forgiveness; to the point where he had forgiven Tyson for the bite years ago. Heck, they even did a commercial together for Foot Locker where they hug after Tyson gives Holyfield his ear back.

Holyfield and Tyson have apparently buried the hatchet to the point where Holyfield actually tried Tyson’s gummies and approved of them. Not only did he approve, but it inspired him to create his own brand of cannabis with Tyson to debut in 2023. No confirmation yet on if his gummies will also be ear shaped, or maybe they’ll just be in the shape of Referee Mills Lane who stopped the fight before it could go into round 4.

It’s an interesting story about how the cannabis market has grown and changed in the last several years. It’s also an interesting story about forgiveness. Who would’ve thought we’d see the day where Tyson vs. Holyfield III wouldn’t be a boxing match, but instead be a business venture into the cannabis industry? Maybe Iron Mike should’ve popped a couple of them though before having to deal with an obnoxious plane passenger.
