TikToker Builds 3,000 lbs Sarcophagus for Flamin’ Hot Cheetos

Do you love Flamin’ Hot Cheetos? Like, love them so much you’d build a 3,000 lbs sarcophagus to entomb them for future generations? Well if not, then get on TikToker Sunday.Nobody’s level because the “meme artist” did just that. In a new video that has already garnered over 10.1 million views, they explain the process.

It all started with a massive box made from sheets of melamine. Then comes cutting and bending rebar at 90-degree angles to fit perfectly into the melamine tomb. Then the concrete is spread over all of it before dropping a slightly less massive melamine box into that. Sunday.Nobody aptly describes it as a “sort of a bathtub thing.” At the same time they were doing a similar process to build a lid for the structure. After 2,100 lbs. of concrete, a month and a half worth of drying, and a hellacious demolding process, the concrete sarcophagus still wasn’t extra enough.

The TikToker had to take some advice from the Rollings Stones and paint it black. During the process, they were almost unable to flip the 900 lbs. lid to the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos sarcophagus. But with some problem-solving and a broken table, they were able to get it. Sunday.Nobody then took a laser cutter to make a plaque of the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos ingredients list. This plaque was spray-painted and gold-leafed before being attached to the lid.

Now here is where it gets weird(er) they went to a local bodega and bought a bag of  Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. The beloved snack, bag and all, are cast in resin with eye hooks in each corner. They then use wire to affix this to the sides of the sarcophagus with springs to make sure it was “seismically isolated” and suspended from any of the sides. “So if there was an earthquake it wouldn’t get damaged,” the creator explains.

A 10-watt laser diode is brought in to try to burn off any germs before attaching the lid and hermetically sealing it. While they don’t specify the reason our guess is to prevent the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos from spoiling as much as possible. The Flamin’ Hot Cheetos sarcophagus is then buried with a plaque reading “Historical artifact buried below. Do not open for 10,000 years. Year buried 2022.”

Sunday.Nobody is careful to specify that the makers of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos are not sponsoring or even aware of this project. While no real reason is given for the work, being a meme artist and ensuring future generations know of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos is explanation enough. Check out the video for yourself below:
