“Peter Pan” Horror Film Coming from “Blood and Honey” Team

Earlier this year, stills from the new horror movie “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey” went viral. The film promises a much more violent take on A.A. Milne’s beloved children’s story. Murderous reworkings of classic public-domain characters are exactly what the people wanted since “Blood and Honey” is now getting a theatrical release. Turns out, it’s not the only classic getting a horror twist.

“Peter Pan: Neverland Nightmare” will be the next project from Rhys Frake-Waterfield. The J. M. Barrie-created icon is also in the public domain, meaning it is free to be adopted however someone sees fit. While there is currently no known plot, this could be a more fitting adaptation. Considering the fact in the 1911 novel, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell already have murderous tendencies. We assume Waterfield will crank those up to 11.

In “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey,” the gang goes feral after being abandoned by Christopher Robin. So of course the 6-foot-tall Pooh and his pal Piglet go on a murderous rampage through the Hundred-Acre Woods.

Fathom Events will release “Blood and Honey” theatrically for one day only on February 15th, 2023. Altitude will be handling the U.K. theatrical release. The Cinemex chain of theaters will be handling its release in Mexico. Canada’s Cineplex chain will also be releasing the film in that region. There are also some rumblings of other territories planning on theatrical releases but the U.S. seems to be the only firm date at the moment.

Stay tuned to Nerdbot for updates on “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey” and “Peter Pan: Neverland Nightmare” as they become available.
