It’s been a long grind all spring, and what a wait it’s been for the summer because with it, is summer break. The long vacation is the best time to meet and spend quality time with your family and friends.

There are a thousand and one things you could do together. Among them is grabbing a big box of popcorn, bottles of soda, and a long list of movies to watch. If this sounds nice, you’ve come to the right place, as we’ve compiled seven of the best summer vacation movies and series for you. Are you wondering what’s next? Read on!

    Scary Movies Series

The R-rated movie is everything you could imagine about what horror looks like with some comedy spice. The series consists of five sequels produced between the years 2000 and 2013, each with a unique storyline.

From an avenging “dead man” to a “mama creature” trying to claim three adopted children, the series is insane and sure to give you chills and spills. Would you be screaming or laughing? The answer is yours to find out.

    Mamma Mia!

What’s a summer vacation without watching a movie about love stories? The 2008 movie is a music movie with an exciting plot about a bride-to-be who is eager to know her biological father. And what better place could she choose to do this than at the wedding?

We can guess your mood while watching. There’ll be smiles, lots of singing, and tears- there were emotional scenes, you know. Overall, it’s one beautiful movie you’ll never want to miss.

La casa de Papel (Money Heist)

If you haven’t watched this series till now, you’re really missing. The Spanish television crime drama series directed by Álex Pina has been holding the audience spellbound since it began in 2017. The plot is about a group of misfits pulling the greatest heists, in the most impossible ways under the supervision of a timid-looking “Professor.”

Your heartbeat will race with suspense, you’ll laugh like a child and cry like one too. In the end, you’ll learn about love, determination, and hope. Tokyo, Palermo, Denver, Berlin, Helsinki, Nairobi, and Stockholm might be nothing but cities to you right now, but in the end, they’ll be an experience.

    Jumanji

Jumanji is an American fantasy adventure comedy that would keep you on the edge of your seat and cause you to spill some soda in excitement. Many may not know the movie was first released in 1995, but you should get a hint from the several references made to it in the new sequels: welcome to the jungle (2017) and Next level (2019).

Long story short, four teens enter the mysterious Jumanji game world with four characters. And each character has unique superpowers and lives count- yes, just like the Mario game. The characters must work through their differences and save themselves and the first ever person trapped in that world, or be lost in the game forever.

Just for thrills, the filming locations are in America. You can speak with an immigration lawyer if you want to tour them.

    Stand by me

Over two and half decades ago, the movie that changed a generation was released: Stand by me. The 1986 movie was derived from Stephen King’s 1982 novella- The Body. The plot involved four Oregon boys who set out to discover a dead body of a young stranger killed during an unfortunate event.

What was supposed to be an adventure for thrills ended up revealing more about themselves than they knew. The kids’ encounters with perils of diverse forms, including avoiding being hit by a train, hostile grownups, and more, revealed a transition from innocence to maturity. Overall, the movie is touching, compelling, melancholic, and humorously serious.

    Wet Hot American Summer

The 2001 romantic comedy movie with a summer theme will definitely glamorize your vacation. In this movie, a group of counselors tried to complete the unfinished business on the last day of camp. But what exactly are they working on? Let’s not lift the suspense. Watch the movie to find out. One thing we know for sure is that it would bring some nostalgia.

    Like Father

Like father, is a 2018 drama and comedy which you can’t regret watching. A workaholic woman was abandoned by her husband-to-be during their joining at the altar. Her estranged dad showed up at her wedding. Somehow they end up on a holiday cruise ship for honeymooners and the like, and everyone assumes they were a couple.

Everything sounds crazy, right? Hey, no judging till you see this movie. In the end, you’ll learn that there is always room for love, life, and family.

    Conclusion

The coming summer would also be the perfect time to put some plans to work, as you’ll learn from a few of the movies on our list. You can apply for a high potential individual visa to work abroad and take a break from your native country. You never know what opportunities and fun await you and your family overseas.
