Emma Caulfield Ford Will Return for “Agatha: Coven of Chaos”

If you’re a 90s kid, the name Emma Caulfield Ford is not unfamiliar. Known best for her role as vengeance demon-turned-human Anya in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” and more recently as Dottie in “WandaVision,” the actress has revealed she suffers from multiple sclerosis.

Initially, there was fear and concern revealing her condition would take work opportunities away from her. But Ford doesn’t want to have to hide her affliction from her now 6-year-old daughter. Nor does she wish to hide it from colleagues given the potential risk of worsening symptoms while working. In short, she’s not letting it define her or stop her.

While having a rather in-depth conversation with Vanity Fair about MS, Ford confirmed she’ll be reprising the role of Dottie in “Agatha: Coven of Chaos,” a spin-off of “WandaVision.”

Vanity Fair: So you’ll be returning as Dottie in Agatha: Coven of Chaos soon…

Emma Caulfield Ford: That is super fun. There’s a couple of things actually. There’s another thing which I also can’t really say.

MS is a disease that progressively attacks the nervous system that can result in various physical difficulties depending on severity. For Ford, the condition is hereditary. She first began exhibiting symptoms in 2010, when she began experiencing numbness and tingling that wouldn’t go away.

Regardless of the stress, Emma Caulfield Ford isn’t going to stop working. She hopes to live a full life alongside MS without letting it keep her from doing what she loves. “I’m not going to live my life like I have something horrible,” she told Vanity Fair. “I’m going to do what I need to do to take care of myself. But I’m not going to live in fear.”

“Agatha: Coven of Chaos” will hit sometime in 2023. “WandaVision” is streaming on Disney+ now.
