Po is back in “Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight!” We chatted with executive producers and showrunners Peter Hasting and Shaunt Nigoghossian about the lovable ursidae’s return to the small screen.

The series picks up after the exploits of his feature film adventures, as well as the series, “Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny.” Jack Black returns to voice the titular Ailuropoda melanoleuca. Also returning to the franchise is James Hong as Po’s adopted father, Mr. Ping! Black did not serve as the voice for a few projects so it’s nice to hear him bring his energy back to the role.

More about “Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight”: When a mysterious pair of weasels set their sights on a collection of four powerful weapons, Po must leave his home to embark on a globe-trotting quest for redemption and justice that finds him partnered up with a no-nonsense English knight named Wandering Blade. Together, these two mismatched warriors set out on an epic adventure to find the magical weapons and save the world from destruction – and they may even learn a thing or two from each other along the way.

The series also stars Rita Ora, Della Saba, Chris Geere, and Rahnuma Panthaky.

    More about the showrunners:

Hastings began his career in entertainment in the music industry. He then entered the world of animation, working as a producer and writer on “Animainacs” and “Pinky and the Brain.” He was also writer and executive producer for “Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness.” He’s a six-time Emmy Award and Peabody-winning writer.

Nigoghossian was most recently the supervising director and showrunner for Netflix’s “Blood of Zeus.” Previously he worked on “Transformers Prime,” “Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!,” and “King of the Hill.”  He has been nominated for Emmy and Annie awards.

“Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight” is streaming now on Netflix.
