Chris Hemsworth Will Read “Stormy Night” on “Bedtime Stories”

Chris Hemsworth (“Spiderhead”) will be appearing on the CBeebies show “Bedtime Stories.” He will be reading the children’s book “Stormy Night” by Salina Yoon. “Stormy Night” tells the story of a little bear, helpfully named Bear, who is afraid of thunderstorms. Bear’s Mama, Papa, and Floppy all help him cope, and see that the storm is not so scary. A fun little joke to have someone known for playing Thor, God of thunder, reading a story about how storms are not frightening.

“I love nothing more than reading bedtime stories to my children and it was a joy to get to read ‘Stormy Night,’ a story about a little bear who is scared of storms,” Hemsworth said. “Even though I know a thing or two about thunder and lightning, I always feel better when the storm passes.”

CBeebies is a pre-school network by the BBC made for children 6 and under. It airs a wide range of pre-school programming that is designed to encourage learning through play in a safe environment. They offer content produced by experts in pre-school education to keep young audiences entertained while they learn. CBeebies aims to provide a co-viewing experience that the whole family will enjoy. Through the use of bright colors, friendly characters, and interactive content.

The show “Bedtime Stories” has previously had celebrity readers like Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, who read Ringo Starr’s book “Octopus’s Garden.” “Loki” star Tom Hiddleston read “Supertato” by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet. “Supertato” tells the story of a superhero potato and a supervillain pea. Hmmm, think we’re sensing a pattern here.

The show will air on July 8th, at 6:50 PM GMT. For viewers who do not get CBeebies, the episode will also be available on BBC’s streaming service iPlayer.

Hemsworth‘s newest Marvel Studios film, “Thor: Love and Thunder,” hits theaters July 8th.
