Nuclear-Powered Sky Hotel Can Stay in the Air for 7 Years

If you like going on cruises in the ocean, then this might be something you’re interested in. Instead of the sea, what about traveling on a massive nuclear powered sky hotel? Hashem Al-Ghaili released a video showcasing all of the features this proposed futuristic escape might have.

Some things of note are a wedding chapel, a theater, game rooms for kids, fancy restaurants, shopping malls, viewing spaces where you can get a complete unobscured view of the sky, and many more built in features that would make this a luxury liner. With the nuclear powered engines, they possibly keep this in the sky for seven years at a time. Which makes me think of zombie invasions, or maybe a world in which “Snowpiercer” becomes a stark reality.

The aircraft is designed to fly with 20 electric engines, housing over 5,000 guests in nearly nonstop flight. One of the features highlighted are anti vibration measures that will combat any potential turbulence in the sky. Think of it like how noise cancelling headphones work.

Instead of landing for supplies and food, commercial airlines will deliver directly to the air ship. There are advanced medical bays that have the most recent technology and they will do ship maintenance above the clouds. The concept was imagined by Tony Holmston, and animated by Hasheem Al-Ghalli.

So far this is still in the early concept stages. This video gives potential interested parties the ability to visualize what something like this will be like before investing. It’s a similar concept to what Orbital Assembly Corporation has envisioned with their 2027 space hotel, but not quite that extreme.
