Netflix kicked off Geek Week today, and shared a peek at what “Wednesday” will look like. “Wednesday” is a spin-off series from one of our favorite spooky franchises “The Addams Family.”
This twisted new series is “woefully presented” by Netflix. It stars Jenny Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzman, Gwendoline Christie, Christina Ricci and many more. The show will feature Wednesday Addams as she solves the dark and supernatural mysteries of Nevermore Academy.
Tim Burton is directing and the live-action series will have 8 episodes to start. Fans are already hoping it will be an ongoing series. The logline for the series is as follows:
The upcoming eight-episode series is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday’s years as a student at the peculiar Nevermore Academy. Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago – all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships of the strange and diverse student body.
No official date has been announced but they did say ‘coming soon.’ Hopefully that means around Halloween of this year. Fingers crossed! Snap, Snap!
