Geeked Week: “The Sandman” Trailer, Release Date [Updating]

Hope you’re ready to FINALLY see the trailer for Netflix’s upcoming live-action adaptation of “The Sandman!” We’re expecting it to release during day 1 of Geeked Week, which kicked off today. The panel was hosted by Felicia Day.

Last night, Neil Gaiman himself teased what fans are likely to see.

Needless to say, fans have been very vocal about this adaptation; most have been positive, but others were pretty unhappy about casting choices. But, even those fans were happy to see early teases of things like Morpheus/Dream and his helm.

“I cared very much about the physicality and image of Morpheus,” star Tom Sturridge told Entertainment Weekly. “We’ve all seen those pictures, we know about his skeletal, muscular, otherworldly physique. Something that’s very exciting about the physical aspect of things is you can solve that problem. I can make my body look like that — it requires A, B, C, and D — in a way that I can’t easily get into the soul of an Endless. There was something quite satisfying about beginning with a task that was achievable, and I worked hard to create this physicality that I felt that was unusual.”

There were new images teased during the panel, several of which you can find on the show’s official Instagram account here.
