    Ariana DeBose to Play Calypso in “Kraven” for Sony

    Newly minted SAG Best Supporting Actress winner Ariana DeBose is headed to the Spider-Verse. The “West Side Story” star and original “Hamilton” bullet girl has joined “Kraven.”



    Reports indicate she’ll be playing Marvel Comics character Calypso, voodoo priestess. She’s often seen in the company of Kraven the Hunter, who will be played by Aaron Taylor Johnson in this film. Russell Crowe is also on board, but we don’t have any details on who he’ll be playing yet.

    J.C. Chandor is directing from a screenplay by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and Richard Wenk.

    The next big Sony Pictures flick to hit theaters will be Jared Leto‘s “Morbius” on April 1st, 2022.

    “Kraven” currently has a release date of January 13th, 2023.
