This is one of those strange titles that may only appeal to a few folks. Considering the success AppleTV+ had with their Isaac Asimov adaptation “Foundation,” maybe it’s not so surprising?
News just broke that Sam Esmail, creator of “Mr. Robot” and developer of that “Battlestar Galactica” reboot no one wants, is working on a new project. Based on the monumentally groundbreaking 1927 film by Fritz Lang, “Metropolis” is coming to AppleTV+ as a series.
This project was apparently in some kind of development back in 2016, but has been quiet since. Esmail will reportedly serve as writer, director, executive producer, and showrunner if “Metropolis” makes it to series.
We’ll let you know what we hear about this and other projects.
