Hulu has had a bona fide hit on its hands with its comedic mystery, Only Murders in the Building. Across five seasons, they’ve attracted several guest stars. The already acclaimed cast consistently features Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. They’ve been joined by Sting, Meryl Streep, Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, and the list goes on. As the upcoming season six moves the cast over to London, though, the guest stars are following suit. It’s definitely going to “spice up your life,” so to speak.
For the sake of spoilers, we won’t go into exactly what happened at the end of season five. The uninitiated should know that at the end of each season, someone dies. This continues the investigation loop that the main trio finds themselves in. So when someone dies in their building who has connections to jolly old England, it’s time to cross the pond. And who will they find over there? Geri Halliwell. Ginger spice herself.

Halliwell, now Halliwell-Horner hasn’t had an extensive acting career, but she did pop up in Gran Turismo in 2023. It helps that her husband, Christian Horner, raced and owned cars in Formula 1. Back to Geri, though, the Spice Girl will be lending her talents to the smaller screen in a yet undisclosed role. She won’t be the only Brit added to the roster, for that matter, either. She’ll be joined by several others, including Martin Freeman and Derek Jacobi.
Freeman probably needs no introduction to most. After all, this is Bilbo Baggins we’re talking about here, as well as Watson from Sherlock. Jacobi is another strong addition, too. His acting credentials are extensive and include the wonderfully witty British comedy series, Vicious. He also won an Emmy for his guest performance in a season eight episode of Frasier. That’s right, Frasier fans, Jackson Headley is back! …You’d get that reference if you’re a fan of the show.
Anyway, we’re eagerly anticipating the next season of Only Murders. Season five was a good return to form after a fourth season that wavered in its plot and pacing. The change of scenery may do the series some good, too. Taking the story out of the building and into another country is a bold decision. We look forward to providing more information as it comes forth.
