Capcom and Babymetal Drop Limited Resident Evil 30th Anniversary Merch

Capcom recently partnered up with Japanese kawaii metal bestie Babymetal for a 30th anniversary line of Resident Evil-themed merchandise. Pre-orders started on May 25, 2026 and will take place on the Babymetal Official Online Store. The collaboration again brings together some of the most far apart cultural forces today. Unsurprisingly, enthusiastic fans have already taken notice.

The five items in the line are a hoodie, two t-shirts, a random acrylic keychain, and an acrylic stand. Both the t-shirts and hoodie display original artwork from two of Capcom’s collaborative artists, illustrator Hinanana and graphic designer GOTO. Both creators have major credits from Capcom’s own commemorative art program. This program includes Resident Evil 30th Anniversary materials and the Street Fighter series.

Pre-orders will end on June 26, 2026 at 11:59 PM on the Babymetal Online Store, with shipping in August, 2026.

The collaboration announcement was made at the Intuit Dome in the US on November 2, 2025 during Babymetal World Tour 2025-2026. Prior to that, the band had made a video featuring Resident Evil Village villain Alcina Dimitrescu in some collab hinting. So to see it fully realized in merchandise items is the reward fans were expecting.

The group shared a collective reaction to the collection. “We are very excited about this special collaboration,” she said.

Formed in Tokyo in 2010, Babymetal pioneered “kawaii metal,” a hybrid of J-pop idol music and heavy metal. In March 2025, the kawaiimetal trio landed a worldwide deal with Capitol Records. They became the first Japanese acts to sign a frontline deal in the label’s history.

Here’s a look at what you can get!

On the game side, the Resident Evil series has sold over 201 million units worldwide, with Resident Evil Requiem currently the fastest-selling title in franchise history. Capcom has confirmed even more 30th anniversary announcements are to come throughout the year.

The franchise is also expanding into film. A new Resident Evil movie is in the works, with Zach Cregger co-writing and also directing the screenplay with Shay Hatten. It’s the second reboot for the series’ film adaptations. The release date is set for September 18, 2026. The film is set during the events of Resident Evil 2 (1998), and follows a medical courier who becomes caught up in a viral outbreak in Raccoon City.

There’s also a Resident Evil anniversary concert tour slated for later this year. Titled Symphony of Legacy, it will feature music from throughout the series, ranging from the original 1996 game, through to Resident Evil Requiem.

With the merch collab, the film in the works, and a live orchestral tour, it’s shaping up to be one of Resident Evil’s busiest years yet.
