Netflix has unveiled the first look at The Last House, a sci-fi survival thriller formerly known as 11817, directed by Louis Leterrier. Starring Greta Lee and Wagner Moura, the film is officially set to hit Netflix globally on August 7, 2026.

The Last House follows a family of four suddenly sealed inside their home with no way out. They are forced to work together to survive against dwindling resources. They also face a mysterious, looming threat keeping them trapped. Lee and Moura play the parents at the center of that fight. Early on, Past Lives star Lee and Kingsley Ben-Adir were in negotiations to lead the film before Moura stepped into the co-lead role.

Leterrier, known for Fast X and Now You See Me, directed from a script by Matthew Robinson, who previously wrote Love and Monsters. The project comes from Chernin Entertainment and 3 Arts Entertainment. Leterrier produces alongside Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping, Kori Adelson and Oly Obst also serve as producers.

“The Last House challenges the idea of a safe haven, turning a family home into a hostile environment where survival demands unity,” Leterrier told Netflix’s Tudum.

Lee was immediately drawn in by the concept.

“Growing up my favorite things to watch and read were survivalist stories with a twist,” she said. “I love the questions this movie asks about our world and how we choose to live in it.”

Moura echoed that pull toward the unexpected. “The storyline will evolve in ways that the audience certainly will not expect, but that is what makes this film so interesting,” he said.

Riley Chung from The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, Emma Ho from The Baker, Noah Alexander Sosnowski from Section 8, and Gabriel Barbosa from May December round out the cast.

The Last House is rated PG-13 for “some violent content/terror, drug use, sexual references, and brief language.”

Both leads bring serious recent momentum to the project. Lee’s recent credits include Tron: Ares, A House of Dynamite, and Past Lives. Plus she earned an Emmy nomination for The Morning Show. Upcoming voice roles in Toy Story 5 and Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse keep her calendar full beyond this film.

On the other side, Wagner Moura earned an Academy Award nomination for leading The Secret Agent. Other credits span Civil War, The Gray Man, and Narcos. He also appeared in Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Dope Thief.

The Last House arrives over two years after the project was first announced. This week’s reveal has been long-awaited moment for fans tracking the production. Leterrier is also set to next helm Liminal, an Apple sci-fi action thriller starring Vanessa Kirby and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
