It looks like director Louis Leterrier (“The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistence,” “Transporter”) will be sticking with Dominic Toretto’s family. It has just been confirmed that he will be directing the next and final “Fast & Furious” film. Leterrier replaced director Justin Lin on the upcoming “Fast X” last May. Normally director substitutions, especially fast ones, are the kiss of death for a film. But luckily, that doesn’t doesn’t seem to be the case here.

“Louis joined the ‘Fast & Furious’ team seamlessly, with an innate understanding of the franchise that is stronger than ever after two decades,” Universal Pictures president Peter Cramer said. “Under his direction, ‘Fast X’ is a high intensity thriller with all the spectacular action, emotion, and twists that the fans have come to expect – and then some. We are thrilled that he will continue to work his magic in the director’s chair.”
Coming into an established franchise that is already ten films deep is a daunting task for even the most seasoned director. But, Leterrier was able to blend in with the tight-knit cast of Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Charlize Theron, and producer/star Vin Diesel.

“Fast X,” will follow Dominic Toretto (Diesel) and his family as they are terrorized by Dante (Jason Momoa). As he seeks revenge against them for a bank job gone wrong in the film “Fast Five.” Currently, there are no available plot details for the eleventh “Fast & Furious” film. That isn’t really shocking given that the tenth isn’t even out yet. Spoilers could be a concern if they are going back a tying up loose ends from previous films. Like it seems “Fast X” is intended to do. All we know is it will probably be about family, because nothing is stronger than family.
“Fast X,” will hit theaters on May 19th, 2023, you can check out the trailer below. We’ll keep you posted on updates about the eleventh film as they become available.
