Everything old is new once again. Filmmaker James Cullen Bressack will be shooting his brand-new horror film, I Have Proof, entirely on VHS-C!
Plot details are currently under wraps. However, Bressack describes it as psychologically charged and favors “texture, imperfection, and immediacy over polish.” I Have Proof will explore a deteriorating sense of reality. His previous films, like To Jennifer and Hate Crime, both use imperfection to create texture and drive narrative.

Bressack said he had to find about 30 tapes on the second-hand market to make the film. With eBay and people’s old home movies being his primary sources. Production is set to start in Los Angeles later this month.
“This is me going back to raw, stripped-down horror,” said Bressack. “I saw a review on Letterboxd from someone who liked my early work and said they missed when I use to make grungy horror films. It stuck with me. It pushed me to return to that space and make something that feels immediate and real for those that watched my films in the beginning. We’re leaning fully into analog to create something AI couldn’t replicate and wouldn’t even know how to approach; something human and raw.”
I Have Proof stars Larsen Deane, Lilly Van Der Meer, Kelly Lynn Reiter, and B.J. Hendricks. Bressack will produce via his Sandaled Kid Productions banner with David Josh Lawrence and Kay Day co-producing. Hendricks executive produces with James Rundquist of Robotic Donut.
We’ll keep you posted on updates about this film as it develops.
