Is Courtney Love Teasing a Hole Reunion Tour?

There aren’t many living figures in alternative rock with histories as complicated as Courtney Love‘s. The former frontwoman of Hole and wife of Kurt Cobain went through a period in the mid 90s of drugs, love, death, success, public scrutiny, and motherhood. Somehow, she managed to come out from under it all while also delivering some banger albums with her band. It’s been a fair bit since we’ve heard anything musically from Hole or Love herself, but she might be teasing something with the potential to get fans excited.

Whenever two former bandmembers get together in the same place at the same time, it’s bound to start conversation. We just didn’t expect Courtney Love to be the one starting it! Love took to Instagram earlier this week to showcase a video with former bassist, Melissa Auf der Maur.

    Possible Hole Reunion?

Auf der Maur was the bassist for the band in the mid to late 90s including the recording the album Celebrity Skin. It was one of the most commercially successful periods for the band and one that fans would likely enjoying seeing back on the road together again. Now, to be fair, it’s not definitive proof and it could be just a plain old tease as opposed to a tease of things to come. Adding fuel to the fire is the comment Love left on her post, “So do we tell the kids about the tour @xmadmx?”

That’s a tantalizing little comment to leave behind for fans to dig into. And other outlets have noted that the two women have been hanging out together recently. Again, nothing fully proof positive, but enough to make everyone wonder what this could be leading up to. If Hole does reunite, who else is going to be there? Are we looking at a large scale tour or limited engagements?

This is one of those stories that we’ll definitely be keeping an eye on to see if it develops into something more. And if there does end up being a series of shows, we don’t want to put words in Love’s mouth, but we’re pretty sure she’ll be “so glad you could make it” to one.
