DC Studios is leaving us some fun little breadcrumbs for Craig Gillespie’s (“I, Tonya“) upcoming film “Supergirl.” DC co-head James Gunn shared a fun behind-the-scenes look at Jason Momoa (“Moana”) as Lobo.

This afternoon, Gunn posted a video of Momoa stepping out of his trailer on set. When a voice off camera asks if he has any comments on playing Lobo, he responds, “Finally.” We then get a brief glimpse of him as the character on a flaming motorcycle.
The movie will follow Supergirl/Kara Zor-El (Milly Alcock), cousin to Superman/Kal El/Clark Kent (David Corenswet). Kara is just living her life until a terrifying enemy strikes too close to home. Kara must reluctantly join forces with an unlikely companion as they go on a quest for vengeance and justice.
Momoa and Alcock star alongside Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, and Emily Beecham.
“Supergirl” is directed by Gillespie from a script by Ana Nogueira (“The Vampire Diaries“). The film is based on characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Gunn and fellow DC co-head Peter Safran will produce the upcoming feature.
“Supergirl” hits theaters June 26th, 2026. You can check out the BTS video and a teaser trailer below:
