Since 1976, the colorful characters on “The Muppet Show” have been delighting kids and adults alike. Early next year, the show will be returning with a special event on Disney+ and ABC.
Kermit, Miss Piggy, and the rest of the Muppets are back with a brand new special event. It’ll have the show’s lengendary unique blend of music, comedy, and chaos. The gang once again take the stage of the original Muppet Theatre with a very special guest, Sabrina Carpenter!

Longstanding Muppets performers Bill Barretta, Dave Goelz, Eric Jacobson, Peter Linz, David Rudman, and Matt Vogel will perform most of the characters.
This special event is directed by Alex Timbers, who is also executive producing. Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, and Alex McAtee will executive produce for Point Grey Pictures. David Lightbody, Leigh Slaughter, and Michael Steinbach will executive produce for The Muppets Studio with Carpenter, Vogel, Albertina Rizzo, and Eric Jacobson.
“I’ve been working the better part of the last decade to try to bring my favorite show back, and it looks like I’m getting close,” Rogen recently said about the project.
“The Muppet Show” was created by Jim Henson and ran from 1976 to 1981, airing in over 100 countries. It’s known for its wacky humour and A-list guest stars like Elton John, Johnny Cash, Diana Ross, Debbie Harry, Gladys Knight, Liza Minelli, and Paul Simon.
“The Muppet Show” special event will premiere on Disney+ and ABC on Wednesday, February 4th, 2026. You can check out the first preview below:
